It's YB's birthday party tomorrow. Yesterday one of his nursery friends said to me, with great excitement, "I'm coming to YB's party tomorrow!". His Dad and I explained that it was on Saturday and I said I was glad he could come and went on my way. At home I went to tick his name off the list and heartsink! Name not down! Did I invite him, or had he just picked up on the fact that there was a party because children were talking about it? He was certainly intended to be invited.
Would have left a note at nursery but he's not there today. So the nursery manager contacted the parents and Mum rang me. She tried to apologise but I wouldn't let her. She's just moved house, and she's got a 12wo baby as well as a 3yo. She's a little busy. I was more concerned that I really had invited A - and if I hadn't, to make sure that they had the details if they wanted to come - than that they hadn't responded formally to say yes!
But I had invited him, and they are coming, so we're all happy.
