I'm working on something rather appropriate for summer right now.  For a painting with no preliminary sketch, just direct brushmarks onto the canvas, I think it's looking quite promising.  So far, I've only done the underpainting.

My oil painting class will be over in just a couple of weeks, and I still have to start - and finish - a third painting.  So even though I hate my self-portrait, and would like nothing better than to scrape the canvas clean and start anew, I've put it aside so that I can focus on the new painting ( Read more... )
