After
sleeping on it for 2 months, I finally bit the bullet and bought my first Mulberry. Miss Alexa costs a little more than a Balenciaga First, which is the other bag I was eyeing. But after seeing both Moutard and Butter (IRL), I've decided against both. The yellow just wasn't in the right shade (ala Hermes Soleil).
Despite a slight buyer remorse (brought on no thanks to tPF - I really need to stop going on there), I think I'll enjoy Miss A aging nicely, turning all vintagey.
May I present Miss Buffalo Oak Alexa:
Bag looks a little darker on the sides because of the flash (focused in the middle).
From this purchase, I have also received a Club21 card (I wonder if this works in Singapore as well). And if I were to spend another HKD 1,225 I get a HKD 500 voucher. Time to check out A|X for dresses :)
I had a great experience with Mulberry Hong Kong (thanks Kimmie). My SA was really patient and even took out 3 bags for me to choose from. Prior to that, Mr. P had gone down to the shop on Thursday to check out the bags when I asked for his opinion (he works above the mall) and they were extremely helpful to this clueless man (he walked into Chanel and called a Wallet on Chain a Bag on a String).
I could have scored a better deal online (Harrods still has them in stock the last I checked) - GBP 660 or so. I didn't because I 1) wanted to pick out the bag myself, 2) desired instant gratification and 3) didn't want to be shipped someone else's returned bag.
On point 3, I was doing research (okay just checking out mod pics) when I came across
this. I mean I've no qualms about second hand bags if I am paying second hand prices or that it is something out of production. But to read about people actually using the bags a few times before returning and by inference I may end up paying full price for used bags from Harrods, NO THANK YOU. Thus the decision to spend that extra HKD 800-,1000 wasn't all that difficult.
Right off to get a pedi and taking Miss A out for a test run.
