Best Monday Ever, and a hot bike.
Monday was amazingly awesome. I've never had a monday so good. Stress at work had reached a pinnacle, with the impending layoffs (expected and executed Tuesday--I survived!). I have a cello recital Sunday. Saturday mornings are being given up for Karate: my 3 month testing period starts this weekend. Stress in every aspect of my life... yes, relationship stress, too.
After work I grabbed a bite to eat, my juggling clubs, and some club garb, then powered down to my favorite city.... BOSTON you're my home.
Spin jam was remarkable. a big open high-ceiling room with mirrors on one wall and three dozen people crammed together spinning things around. there were hula hoops (usually on peoples' necks), there were poi everywhere, there were jugglers, acrobats, everything but stilts. maybe i'll bring my unicycle next week. I learned to do a false cartwheel (you stay on one leg and the other makes the wheel), along with lots of poi fun (heaven sinwali with escrima = the weave with poi). I tried to tighten up my club juggling but the only success i had was trying to meditate while I did it. the calm really helped relax everything. I think Lucy had a good time, too.
Next was ceremony. Now to say that I enjoy dance is a bit of an understatement. I enjoy dance like plants enjoy the sun.
Before I even got inside I ran into one beautiful annabelle whom I sat and chatted with at length. Naomi, Tricia, Quong, Chris, Masumi.... everyone was there. I savored a sensuous tango. I cannot even elaborate on all the awesome. Found new music to love, new people to talk to, and beautiful beautiful dancing. slow and smooth, full of emotion. Love. Love. Love.
I cannot expect to have half as much fun next time. I will try, though =)
Last night, after the big slushy traffic jam, I savored a quiet hot chocolate while watching the snow fall. A couple of choice phone calls put me in an incredibly positive mood. I ended the night with karate, teaching and practice. How could two days be any more wonderful?
