new calluses
I've been writing a lot more. Obviously not in here lol, but for the story that I'm working on, I've got about ten pages done.
It seems to be easier to write if I write it on paper first and then type it out, I think because that is how I always used to write it just comes easier to me that way.
you know I wish I kept a lot of the old stories that I wrote. I wrote one about a magic typewriter (LOL) where you would write anything and it would come true. and then the typewriter really was like a genie and if you recited the spell he gave you he was able to break free and you were trapped in the typewritter. It was pretty inventive for an 11 year old. And I actually finished it!
There was this young author's conference in McGill that year and I was chosen from my school to go and you got to meet a bunch of authors and they would tell you about writing and how they got started and also we met children's book illustrators and they showed us how shapes make up a drawing and we all drew. I had to draw an armchair and they guy said that I was really good. I was like, this is a rectangle and fucking circles, how is it good. But apparently I drew really round circles haha.
It's amazing the things you remember.
And I met one of my favorite authors, maryann kovalski, she wrote Jingle Bells and it was such a favorite of mine. bah.
I should just finish this. I need to finish this. I want someone to read it and it to matter to them.
I just want to do something worthwhile, you know?
