Long year so far...
Was tooling along with the year, not much going on and so nothing much to say. I got back from Santa Barbara about mid-January. Had a good visit with family, helped my niece a bit with surgery recovery, and just hung out with family.
February was taken up a bit with prep for the Assistance League's annual Mardi Gras Auction (their biggest fund raiser), I didn't have much to do for it until the night of... when I am Data Entry. This mostly entails adding more guests, and then registering all the winning bids into the database. That way we have totals and can print end-of-night receipts for the winners to pay. It was a resounding success, they made more money than they expected! I had fun making friends with a woman I hadn't known in ALB before.. Nancy Z. Nice and very smart lady. We had fun and were a great team (very efficient!)
March brought... Shingles. Ugggghhh! Itching to drive one insane and the pain! A virus in the nerves related to Chickenpox, I got this early in the month and the original spot has faded but is still there. Thankfully, the pain is almost completely gone! But it kept me indoors for much of the month (don't want to spread Chickenpox!) I did go to Norwescon and worked in the office and in registration as needed. I think I did a pretty good job. Due to being Con-Services and in contact with the hotel a lot, I asked our contact if I could order something different than the "con menu" items for my birthday dinner... and got it :) They even bought my dessert for me! Nice birthday with lots of friends at dinner, even a few gifts! YAY!
April brought a scramble to get tax extensions filed (WA % CA) which was very frustrating, but done. Then saving towards Property Taxes at the end of the month and paying for July's Cruise first part of May. During all that, I got an interesting coupon from a car dealership in town and today I went to check it out. Between the pricing, the coupon and my Credit Union... I bought a car, FINALLY. It is used (2002) but in excellent condition with acceptable mileage and a great price. Picture is attached. :)
Guess that catches me up... oh! New Dragon Movie Out... go see How To Train Your Dragon, great fun!
