I haven't posted in forever. How weird
Barry's reunion was fun, he had a good time seeing old classmates, hung out with a couple family members. The kids had a blast at thier cousins, in the pool playing hide and seek outside, sleep over. I had a semi-relaxing time, although I worked most of the time they were gone.
Summer continues to go well. Conor is getting really bored and a little anxious about his teacher for next year. I need to find the principal actually in her office (I have checked almost every day we are at the school) and hound her for his teacher's name.
Alicen is having a brat july. She has been in a lot of trouble this month...not listening, talking back, hitting her brothers. She is soooo dramatic that if Daddy tells her no about something she'll yell and throw herself onto the couch in a crying fit. Most of the time she is just making noise, not really crying.
Mile is Miles. He's had a few moments of being bored, but mostly had a good summer. He's chosen to wait until school starts for his birthday party so he can invite a few school friends that we don't have numbers for...but he turns 9 next week already!!
I'm still enjoying work, although my fellow HC's are sucking at the moment. the front end supervisor knows that nothing gets done if she or I don't do it, but nothing changes.
I found out that some (probably most) of my foot pain is being caused by a bone spur on my heel. It isn't big enough that they will shave it at this point, but it doesn't really go away from what I have read. ack
Conor passed his swimming test and jumped off the diving board last night. It was a huge night for him. He was SO proud of himself. I was so proud of him. It's great for him to have those feelings of accomplishment. he has always been too scared to take the test before this, he doesn't like to fail. But he passed with flying colors, he could have swam longer. (you have to do a front stroke the full length of the pool and the back stroke back the length of the pool.) He jumped off the diving board even after seeing one kid do a backflip and hit the board. The life guards weren't watching at all, barry and another dad jumped in to grab him as he sort of panicked. This is a kid who swam for Oregon at a meet last week and won 5 medals, an incredible swimmer but he hit his chest/stomach on the board...) he had been practicing earlier (which is why we knew who he was, barry talked to the kids dad) and he was FAST (the kids were amazed watching him)
ok, time to leave for work.
