Monday was a bust! I had what I thought was a job interview for a call center position. It would be inbound (the only kind I will do) people calling to add money to thier prepaid calling cards or prepaid cell phones. A bit out of the way commute wise but not terrible. So I shlepp the kids to my friend, Jennifer's house, drive about 20 minutes to the appointment in the still falling snow and icy roads only to find out that it really wasn't a job interview for that ONE position. It was an agency (which I knew) that places people. I knew that they were an agency but they had my resume, I had filled out the application online and they had called me talking about this one job so I figured I would be there to talk about that one job. NOPE, they wanted me to fill out the application again in my own handwriting, instead of the typed one from online, they wanted me to test on 10 key and a typing test. A spelling test, math test ect. Then the lady from "professional land" interviewed me. She was so condescending and bitchy. I had indicated on every piece of paperwork that I had turned into them that I was only available after 5PM. She starts out the interview by asking me why I only want to work nights. I said that I was not available during the day. She said "why" in a really snotty voice. I explained that I had young children so I was not available during the day. She again said "why, you are here during the day today". I repeated that I had children at home and was not available until after 5 in the evening. She then said "well we are a professional office that places professional people in professional business settings during business hours" I thanked her for her time and started to get up to leave. She said "wait, where are you going?" I said that it seemed like they were not going to be able to help me and that I didn't want to waste anymore of my or her time. She then backpeddled and said that she did have this one call job position that might work out. I explained that I thought I was here to interview for that job since that is what we had talked about on the pohne, clearly that wasn't the case and I wasn't sure that I wanted to continue with the interview. She brought out the information about the job and said she didn't think it would work out because the "night" shift started at 2 in the afternoon and went until 11 at night and then the graveyard shift started (which I am trying to only do as a last resort). She said she'd call them to see if there was flex in the scheduling and get back to me.
Whatever, I was not impressed and don't expect much to come of it.
I picked up the kids, did some laundry, played a game with them and then B got home to watch M and A while I drove Con to washington square for a lego birthday party at the lego store. I left him there with the mom and dad and 4 other kids and headed to work. Con had a great time at the party. Alicen ate a cupcake when they went to pick him up and got a big stomach ache then threw up a little while later. After that she felt fine.
Tuesday I talked to Stacy at FM, she said she still thought I would be a perfect fit and she wants to hire me but there wasn't the opening she hoped for yet but she thought something would open soon so she still had me at the top of her list and on her radar, she was just waiting for something there to happen. SOOOO, again it sounds good but just more waiting.
Found out at work that the local morning show (am northwest) is going to be live at our store for thier entire show on Monday...should be interesting. I'm going to watch from home even though Linda asked if I wanted to come down and be there in case they wanted to talk to employees. Nope, don't want to be on air.
I have to take G to the deopot today...otherwise it is a laundry, clean up day and then work tonight.
