I know that I tend to dramatize things sometimes. Especially health issues in myself and my children. I tend to worry and always think the worst. I am trying very hard not to do that this time, and just relax and wait and see. But I wanted some input on this, so I thought I would post it here.

Robbie has developed a very noticeable Tic in the last few months. Every time he speaks, or you draw attention to him, he does this head jerking thing. He very swiftly jerks his head forward two or three times. Sort of like he's nodding but it's very rapid and pronounced and he doesn't seem to have control over it. If you point this out to him, the tic becomes worse, and more violent, with his chin coming down nearly to his chest. Being out in the heat also seems to bring it on.

This same little twitch happened for a few weeks about 6 months ago. It came on all of a sudden and then disappeared a few weeks later just as quickly. I am not sure if it's just something that he will grow out of, or if it's an indicator of something else. I need to make a doctor's appointment and have him checked out.

I have read that sometimes children this age, especially boys, develop this sort of thing, and eventually just grow out of it. I try not to acknowledge it at all anymore. and am hoping that it's nothing to concern myself with, but of course, I plan to take him to the doctor to get checked out just in case.

I am just wondering if any of you have any experience with this sort of thing, in your own children, or other children that you know.
