New work machine fubared. Following troubleshooting recommendations simply made things worse and eventually I got the fun of "Windows is shutting you down. Bend over and take it like the bitch you are" messages.
Trying another "upgrade" reinstall of resource CD. If that fails, will try wipe and reinstall...of two days worth of installs.
In other news, caught some MAJOR problems with the Otakon schedule, which Meredith and I integrated and partially fixed, but which need to be sorted ASAP. At least panels and guest/industry related programming is (mostly) acceptable. And I think I have two more magical guests coming (and NOT at our expense) related to a hot new property, and they've been sent by the studio directly before it's got a US distributor. So there's at least a minor victory!
I will shortly go eat food and probably drink either a milkshake or something rather alcoholic.
