Turkey Day Ought-Five

Nov 24, 2005 12:10

Watched BATMAN BEGINS last night, only realizing too late that I'd bought the version without the commentary and other goodies. That's the whole damned point of buying DVDs -- to see the commentary and documentaries. I'm a sucker for DVD goodies. But damn, that's a good movie.

Having beat as much of Sly Cooper (great game but short) as I want to (those "Master Thief Sprints" are too much for me, I'm afraid, and I was getting frustrated rather than having fun), I popped in a PS2 game called SHIFTERS that I bought some time back for only $6. Turns out I paid too much; it REALLY sucks. Sigh. I really need to clean out my game pile and get some trade-in credit.

This morning I woke up around 9:30 and have spent the morning chatting with Mom & Granny, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade on NBC (I'm a sucker for the marching bands and musicals), and matching the $21k of charges on my Otakon charge card against the proper budget items. What fun!

On the bright side, here are a few things I'm thankful for:

1. We seem to have finally filled the open section chief positions for Otakon. Still some sizable holes in the roster, but we've got a month or two to sort them out.

2. I'm thankful for my job, which I like, and the people I work with, who I also like. I make a decent living and I feel appreciated.

3. I'm thankful for my friends.

4. I'm thankful that my family is generally pretty cool. I'm especially thankful that they are people I genuinely like, and even more thankful that I have the opportunity to spend time with my grandparents.

Speaking of which, I better get ready, get bundled up, and get crackin'. Today I set up internets, make gravy, eat until I'm fair to bursting, have pie, and go bowling. Then tomorrow, it's Black Friday shopping fun with Granny! We will be fierce holiday shopping warriors of doom.

friends, con stuff, food, family, bowling, videogames, emo
