Hip, cat
Went bowling last night with hellbuny and Kelly, which was nice. Unfortunately, I seem to have overdone it on Saturday, and the twinge in my hip got pretty bad. I figured out how to bowl around it, though, and wound up bowling pretty consistently: 116, 138, 143. Mostly it was fun, if a bit painful. Of course we talked a bunch about Otakon stuff, too.
Now the grimmer news. I got home to discover Bishu, who more often than not greets me at the door, was once again absent. He'd been lethargic all weekend, but then again so was I, and frankly he's getting up there in years, so a day of laziness isn't unexpected. He also has had a bit more difficulty jumping up on the bed, but he doesn't *always* sleep with me so again, didn't really register as a problem. But a quick check on his food/drink situation confirmed that he hasn't really been eating. He didn't seem to be in pain, but didn't purr like he usually does when petted, so I'm a bit worried that his tumor may be obstructing his throat. Which would account for the lack of eating, which would account for lack of energy.
Of course kitty guilt ensued. I should have picked up his new medication earlier, etc. Except that if this *is* the tumor rearing it's ugly head, the new medication doesn't affect it -- it's designed to help with his kidneys. And he has been using his litterbox, but again, a check this morning confirmed no poo. None hiding in the usual "change the litterbox, fool!" places (usually "right in front of the litter box" or "over beside my bed"), either.
So I think we're going to have to visit the Vet tonight. I've got a call in and am awaiting confirmation.
