Kevin and I went to Houston last Friday to see Walker and Eric's show at Super Happy Fun Land. The drive was uneventful, Kevin slept as I hoped not to see flashing headlights in my rear view mirror, and we entered the big city already feeling damp from the heat. We went to Eric's, and then had lunch together. Kevin and I went to see the presidents' heads as well as the massive statue of The Beatles. We also went to the Houston Museum of Art, where proctors hated our uncultured behavior. We went for coffee, went shopping, and made our way about Houston before going to the show. Walker and Eric played so well, and I found myself embarrassingly singing along among the 15 year old girls whose eyes were glued on Walker's strumming and Eric's long movements with the slide guitar. The other two bands who played were also very, very good, and I talked to some girl who makes sock puppet monkeys for a living.

jumping in front of 20 ft versions of the most powerful men in the history of america (reasoning for importance being that they pardon a thanksgiving turkey, live where tourists from nebraska walk through dining rooms and take pictures in fake oval offices, and of course, the airplane.)

We drove back at 6:30 a.m, hunted for a McDonald's, and Kevin slept all the way to Austin (which I made it to in an hour, impressive). I went to work, felt awful, and was relieved to be done for the day. I worked on Walker's birthday present, and decided to stay in with Taylor while the boys went to The Frontier Brothers show. We watched bad tv, drank a beer, and gossiped about facebook as well as real celebrities.

Work on Sunday was long, but Sunday night was enjoyable. Walker and I rode bikes to Monument for dinner, and then Lindsey, David, Taylor, Walker, and I all hung out at their apartment for the evening.

I realized that class didn't start until Tuesday, and spent Monday morning not waking up to an alarm for the first time all summer, and probably the last. Then, I worked more on Walker's project, had lunch with David, and had dinner with David, Walker, and Taylor. We rented Robin Hood: The Prince of Thieves and got drunk with Dylan and Colin. It was a great night, and Walker turned 21 at midnight.

Today is (was) Walker's 21st. I had class in the afternoon, but it only consisted of learning about the eye wash station. Eva and I made a cake, David and Colin made pasta, salad, and asparagus, and several people came to the house for dinner to celebrate Walker. Now, everyone is downtown, and I'm at the Andrews doing homework (and writing this, of course) since I'm the DD.

I don't want to go to class in the morning already, but my reading was interesting - I'm learning about the brain. Exciting.
