The house is empty for the first time all summer. It's strange to be able to watch whatever I want on tv - unfortunately, my choice is the Real World Vegas reunion, to lay around in the living room, and to run around the house naked if I so desire - only, I wouldn't here, too many windows, too many professors as neighbors. Nick just left for a wedding in Michigan, and he'll be gone for over two weeks, David is leaving next week, Eva is leaving for Austin this weekend, and I don't know what to do with myself with such a big house all alone. But, I think Stephen is visiting this weekend, and Kevin and I might go to Houston. Besides, I feel like I'm working the majority of the time anyway. I worked an 11 hour day on Sunday, but had Monday and Tuesday to recover. I'm working doubles on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend, and I'm sure I'll be cursing Wildfire and its patrons despite probably making decent money.

This past week(end) was exciting. Lindsey is home, and it feels nice to have her integrated back into Georgetown life while also hearing about her Mali experience. On Saturday, we went to a bar-b-que at Kendra's, and then Walker, Taylor, Lindsey, Nick, Zeke, and I went to the park for the Schubert festival. There were small children, puppies, old people, classical music, laying out under the stars on a blanket, almost sleeping, and of course, fireworks! It was such a summer evening, and after the fireworks ended, we went to Shake's for ice cream.

Lindsey and I at the park.

On Friday night, I attempted to have my first party at the Motherfucker. It ended with a broken window in the door, beer cans all over the kitchen for me to clean up in the morning, several Pikes dancing with the "love lobster", and even some townies showed up. Vicky and I rode bikes around campus and to Casey's to invite people, and overall, the party turned out fairly well. For a long time, at the beginning of the evening, all the boys were playing music in Nick's room, while Taylor, Vicky Chang, Vicky Reeves, and I sat in the living room drinking and discussing various Southwestern boys. We all wore dresses, and danced to the limited CDs that remain in this house after Walker left. Everyone danced, everyone got drunk, and I'm looking forward to more parties - even though it sucks worrying about the house being trashed in the morning.

Yesterday, Taylor and I went to the lake for the afternoon. We overheard several Applebee's employees have amazing conversations about waxing, oral sex, weight loss, racism, and other things. The lake is so high, and the water is pretty nasty. We tried to get a tan, read our books, and secretly hoped the Applebee's employees would befriend us. Then, Eva and I mowed the lawn, we're so domestic. I had dinner at Walker's with him, Taylor, Lindsey, Colin, and Kevin. We sat outside in the gazebo, had pizza, drank wine, and Kimba played at our feet. Everyone came back over here after dinner, and proceeded to drink, read, and play music outside.

Dog sitting ended well. Dr. Stockton wasn't mad about the ink stain one of the dogs made on her new carpet. I start class on Monday - not looking forward to that. I already feel like I have so much to do with only working, and now I'll have to go to class for the majority of the morning/afternoon plus work in the evening. Ugh.

Summer is very busy.
