Relationshippyness for Thor from Cindy and Tiffany?

Possibly also first impressions on Rico from Cindy, if you're willing.

Cindy on Thor: Thor is such a gentleman. And he actually does useful things! This mitigate the fact that he is a prince. The fact that he expects better things of her is . . . rather unexpected because no-one ever did that before. And she's a bit wary of disappointing him for all that she doesn't like to care about what other people think. She's done a lot of morally suspect things already--things that Thor would disapprove of.

Tiffany on Thor: Thor is a god that actually makes sense. For all his muscles, Thor has a good head on his shoulders and that's quite impressive. Tiffany sort of likes talking to him.

Cindy on Rico: She likes that he's from the city like her and is doing something about crime. People who actually do stuff usually make a better impression on her. She's sorry he's an assistant in retail sales though. And he seems like a witty guy who speaks in a way that she understands most of the time.

Reverse?

Thor really enjoys Cindy's company, and chatting and flirting with her--that last one, more than he should really. Mostly it comes down to him finding her intriguing, particularly since he's clued in to the fact that she's more than what she seems--she knows things about fighting and tactics that a warrior like Thor picks up on. But he's in no hurry to find out her backstory; he figures she'll tell him when she wants to and isn't going to pry in the meantime. But she's charming and witty and has a good heart, and those are all things Thor enjoys and responds well to in a person.

Conversely, Thor is a lot less certain about Tiffany--or rather, a lot less certain that she likes him. He gets that she isn't awed by him, personally or as a result of his godhood--and that's good; he wouldn't want her to be. But she's so thoughtful and cerebral, and he's so... well, not, that he always gets the vague feeling that not only is she undaunted but also unimpressed, finding him wanting in some way ( ... )

It's okay Thor--Sif isn't in Camp. Yet. And Tiffany always has the not-impressed look on because you know who is her unofficial mentor.

Cindy is waiting for the actual Camp vacation. That said, she usually tries to sneak a message to Santa.

Tiffany makes cards and present for other people due to having no money and more time now. And she will observe Hogswatch.

Guy is sad and alone. And does not qualify for camp vacation.

Reverse for your characters? Or option B: the underpants your characters are wearing now?

Ah, yes... She Who Must Be Avoided.

Thor is planning on celebrating Yule after a fashion--which for him basically means cutting down the biggest tree he can find in Camp and setting it on fire as a massive Yule log while drinking as much alcohol as possible. And then he gets to go visit his girlfriend for five days~

And Thor wears a breechclout, which is like underwear but made of one long piece of cloth carefully wrapped and folded to stay in place.

Ricochet has decorated the Video-Rama and has been holding regular showings of Xmas classics (and other holiday movies, since he's gotta fit The Hebrew Hammer in somehow), culminating with It's A Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. And then he gets to go visit his girlfriend for five days, too ( ... )

Fables will always be darker than OUaT. I am up to episode 5 of OUaT and it's not a bad series--now if only I didn't know where the original idea came from . . . But Fables was never family-friendly enough for tv. Kudos for OUaT for talking about unwed pregnancies and adoption, but Fables is about a fight for survival and morally ambiguous people like Cindy and Bigby being on the same side as inherently good people like Flycatcher. At times, OUaT takes itself too seriously, but Snow White and Prince Charming's back story was awesome and adorable. If OUaT can pull through a whole season, it would be amazing all the same.

Your characters' least favourite Camp effects?

Because I'm really bad at making icons and very hesitant to ask people to make them for me, my characters only very rarely experience Camp effects because I don't want to go through the effort of making up representative icons! Rico, for instance, has been in Camp for 5 years without ever having been deaged, genderswapped, or turned into an animal, stuffed or otherwise. Roy, on the other hand, is too new to have experienced anything so far anyway ( ... )

Ooo, Thor, so forward!

. . . Guy or girl?

I tend to app guys. Put another way, I've only ever apped guys.

But maybe I haven't yet found the right lady!

If you did not have an archer, I would have said Robin Hood from the BBC series.

If you did not have a thunder god, I'd say Bigby from Fables--half wolf, half elemental wind god.

If Thor did not turn into a frog so often, I'd say Flycatcher from Fables--a prince with an amphibian bent.

If you'd ever app a lady . . . I'd say Nanny Ogg.

Which one of my characters should I tag yours with?

say_thee_nay December 7 2011, 21:26:32 UTC
... god I don't know that I'd have the strength to play Nanny Ogg. Or the familiarity with a banjo. And I once considered apping Bigby, years ago--him or Boy Blue.

I heartily recommend the current tagging set-up of Cindy and Tiffany with Thor, and definitely want to do more with Cindy and Rico. But I also think that Thor and Guy would be a pretty interesting pair along more dramatic lines rather than the usual wacky fun.

Not with me in mind this time, but just in general--who would you and/or your characters most like to see in Camp?

justwannahave December 7 2011, 21:34:21 UTC
Like I have experience with high heels . . .

And for his sins, Guy would get punched into the stratosphere by Thor.

Cindy would not mind having Bigby around--though this would mean that less people are keeping an eye on things at home.

Tiffany would like Granny Weatherwax--just to see how she deals with camp.

Guy really doesn't want to see anyone from home due to all the issues, but if he was being altruistic about second chances, it'd have to be his sister Isabella. She deserves some second chances after her hellish marriage.

Reverse for your characters?

Thor would definitely pick Sif. Possibly my greatest specific regret about Marvel cancelling the Thor: the Mighty Avenger series I take his icons from is that they never got to show what Sif looked like in the artist Chris Samnee's style. (If I was picking someone from Thor's cast, though, it would definitely be Volstagg.)

Ricochet would want his vampire!girlfriend, Astheroshe Asran from Trinity Blood--but her player dropped from the game.... god, two years ago, so that's not ever happening. So I'd settle for his Excelsior teammate Julie Power, aka Lightspeed, because they are adorably dorky together.

Roy's choice and mine are the only ones to perfectly coincide--we want Black Canary, right now.

I know Discworld and Fables well, so tell me--what's nifty about BBC's Robin Hood?

Reply

justwannahave December 7 2011, 22:23:33 UTC
It's an anachronism stew, but the characters are nifty. The villains are genre-savvy--except for Guy--and hammy enough that you want them on screen. The Sheriff alone chews scenery like there's no tomorrow. Most people think that seasons one and two were the better seasons before Guy over here jumped over the moral event horizon and gave rise to season three. There is a lot of swashbuckling and characters changing sides all over the place for their goals. Which leads to actual character development in some places.

We're going to pretend Kate didn't happen.

Now you've got me nervous about playing Cindy and Tiffany because a lot people seem to know their canons.

Tell me more about Young Justice?

Reply

say_thee_nay December 7 2011, 23:37:45 UTC
You do fine with them~

To me the biggest thing about Young Justice is its scope--it feels like this is the animated series DC has been waiting to make ever since Batman: The Animated Series showed them what it could do 20 years ago. This show has almost everybody--the 6 core members of the team, two satellite members in Roy and Zatanna, 16 members of the Justice League, two different secret supervillain groups plus assorted individual heroes, villains, and backup characters... It's like DC learned from Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and the Bold that if they have all these characters, they should probably use all these characters--not even just a double handful, but all of them. And with such big casts, they can tell big stories ( ... )

Cindy and Brianna are having even more fallout, so we'll see how that goes. Cindy is dead embarrassed about the last Camp effect though, so there's still that.

Tiffany . . . No plans, really--though she might age up one day.

Guy has barely even scraped the surfaces of his issues. Which will be easier to do once I get home.
