Since my last post I've watched a few things (Friday night is currently quite a busy one, TV schedule wise).
"Haven" - 5x17 - I thought this episode was pretty good. It seemed a bit more like old "Haven" but I kinda liked that. I thought the stuff about Sandman (or Henry, was it?) was quite good and I kinda felt sorry for him because he was so alone and thought what he was doing was the only way people would stay with him. Obvioiusly I'm glad they managed to stop him and free everyone from his mind (or whatever). I also liked the Duke stuff again - it's quite weird having him separated from the others - but I didn't get why he was trying to get that guy to remember Haven when he doesn't even want to go back there. That didn't really make any sense. He probably will end up going back there though.
"Heroes Reborn" - 1x06 - I enjoyed this episode. I thought the stuff between Miko and that boy (what's his name again?) were quite good. I wonder if she really is gone now she's freed Hiro? I think my favourite scenes were the ones between Zachary Levi (is his character called Luke?) and the blonde girl. I think they could end up making a really good team as they seemed really good together. Now Hiro's back and done his timey wimey thing, what can Noah change?
"The Player" - 1x05 - I think there's only gonna be nine episodes of this now (NBC has cut the number down) so we're over half way. I had a feeling this would happen, I just hope we get some answers about Ginny before the end. I think Cassandra is obviously connected to Ginny somehow but judging by her reaction to the CCTV footage I don't think she's actually invlolved in what happened to her. Incidentally I really wanted Alex to see some pictures that showed of their connection. I still really liked them two together though. The actors have great chemistry. I thought the case of the week aspect this week was good too - slightly different than usual but I thought it worked.
"The Vampire Diaries" - 7x03 - so far I don't really think this season is working that well and I'm not sure why. I think the Alaric storyline is quite good but is obviously not gonna end well for all involved. Things like that never do. And the stuff about Stefan and that girl (I can't remember her name) is interesting enough but does it really have much of a bearing on how things are now? The flashforwards are quite interesting but I'm not sure what their purpose is, they just seem to be making things confusing.
Then last night:
"Hawaii Five-0" - 6x05 - I thought this episode was quite good. It was nice having the team together (with all of them there) and I thought the tough mudder stuff was fun (although completely random). It was nice to see them all supporting each other and I liked the speech Grover gave. I thought the case of the week was quite good although I guessed the so called twist quite early on - as soon as they mentioned the dude money was being sent to and that there was no photo on file I figured it out. I was surprised none of the characters thought about it either, to be honest. And they all seemed pretty shocked by the reveal. Those phone calls Steve has been recieving are interesting - I wonder if it is Catherine? Or Doris? Or maybe it's someone else?
"Doctor Who" - 9x06 - I thought this episode was quite good. It was odd not having Clara there but I liked the Doctor working with Masie Williams (can't remember the characters name, sorry) although I think he was right when he said that they were too similar to travel together. The Doctor needs someone who can reign him in when he needs to be reigned in and I don't think she would do that. I am curious about her character though especially after the Doctor saw her in that photo. I wonder if we're gonna see her again? I think I enjoy the episodes more when Steven Moffat doesn't write them, which is a shame because I used to love the episodes written by him.
Last night I also watched "The X Factor". I don't think having the decision from judges houses made live works. At all. The live show itself was like watching a car crash - the presenting was bad (I always thought the lives was where Olly and Caroline would show their weakness and if this episode was anything to go by then I might be right) and the audience was just so annoying! Obviously they were told to act like that but having them shouting and screaming when people were trying to talk was just stupid and didn't work at all. You couldn't hear anything! I think judges houses are usually quite good because it slows things down a bit and things are calmer but this live decision thing has ruined that. It was a shambles.
I think the judges watching the performances is back was a good idea but they could have just done that at judges houses.
Oh, and Caroline's dress was horrendous. So unflattering. She needs to fire her stylist if they suggested that she should wear that on live TV!
In other news: we're heading to the MCM London Comic Con (I still want to call it London Expo!). I think I might get Claire Dearing out. I liked being her back in the summer.
