Hockadoo!

On Saturday night Dave and I headed to the Shaftesbury theatre to see Memphis The Musical (the 2nd time for me but the first time for Dave as he couldn't make it last time). This time around Beverley Knight wasn't there so Rachel John was playing Felicia this time. I really like her actually - her voice was amazing and I actually think the chemistry between her and Matt Cardle was better than the chemistry between him and Beverley Knight and as such the love story aspect of the show actually worked better for me this time around. Matt Cardle was very good - and seemed even better this time. I wouldn't usually see a theatre production twice but I'm quite glad I did because it was nice to see it again.

After the show Dave wanted to try and meet Matt so we went back around to the stage door - there were definitely more people waiting this time but it was a better evening weather wise and it was a Saturday instead of a Friday. I think we waited for about half an hour to 40 minutes and then Matt came out - there were a couple of people in front of the queue but once they'd got their autographs, pictures and hugs Dave got his programme signed and got a picture with Matt. As I was there too I took my Matt Cardle Porcelain CD with me and asked if he could sign my CD (I think I said something like "is it allowed?"), he replied with "of course I can" and he signed my CD with a pen he'd brought himself (how organised) while I was doing that I mentioned that he was brilliant and that it was my second time seeing the show. Then I got a quick picture with him before saying my thanks and goodbyes and rushing off (Dave shook his hand and he said "thank you, sir". Bless). I didn't want to chat for too long as there were a lot of fans waiting behind us. And I had met Matt before (actually I probably wouldn't have waited by the stage door at all but Dave wanted to). He's a lovely guy and very accomodating to the fans that waited.

Here's my picture and the signed CD:

I think I prefer my picture from before, to be honest, as this one is a little bit blurry.

Oh, and Matt favourited a post I made about Memphis on twitter. So that was cool.

In other news: as I was out on Saturday I didn't get chance to watch the new episode of "Doctor Who" - 9x01 - but I watched it last night. I wasn't very impressed, to be honest. I didn't really know what was going on and thought I'd missed something really important. And it didn't really hold my attention. Very disappointed.

Oh, and Daleks? Boring!

Speaking of Who, it looks like they're gonna be on the look out for a new companion again as Jenna Louise Colman is leaving soon. I really hope they go for something different. I'm kinda sick of seeing various young pretty girls with the Doctor. I don't know what they should do though. I was thinking that a child companion could be quite interesting - or maybe two? A brother and sister or something? I don't know why they wouldn't be with their parents but that's for the writer to decide. By children I mean like 12 year olds or something.

I think the show needs to change - it's getting tired and I think Steven Moffat is trying to be far too clever and then it just ends up not making sense. I miss the simpler times of Russell T Davies.
