I watched a few more midseason finales last night. First up was
Stalker 1x11
As midseason finales go I thought this was a bit disappointing - it was a pretty good episode but I was expecting so much more. I thought the case of the week was okay, the twists and turns were quite interesting and I quite liked that it turned out their first suspect was the perpetrator in the end. I also like the way they split the teams this week - I like it when Jack works with that other guy. I think maybe they're getting past their initial differences.
I like the stuff between Beth and her colleague. The fall out from Beth confiding in her was quite good - but again I kind of expected more. I did like that the guy got arrested in the end and now they've got him they can investigate and get proof. Hopefully anyway.
The stuff between Jack and Ethan was quite good too - I'm glad they've decided that he deserves a relationship with his son. Hopefully he's not gonna screw it up again and make her regret it.
Arrow 3x09
I thought this was quite a good episode - things have definitely got darker on this show in this season. I do kind of miss the standalone case of the week episodes though and the league of assassins stuff generally doesn't really hold my interest that much.
Now, we've found out that Thea was responsible for the murder of Sara (while being manipulated by Malcolm Merlyn, of course) - as soon as Felicity matched the DNA to Oliver (saying 12 out of the 13 matched or something) I guessed that it was probably Thea really and so wasn't that surprised when Merlyn showed up with that video recording on his phone. I can understand that Oliver being Oliver was never gonna had over Thea but maybe he should have talked to her about it first and handing himself over to what seemed like certain death probably wasn't the best idea. The scenes of him saying goodbye to Roy, Diggle and, of course, Felicity were quite good though.
I liked that Laurel told her mother about Sara - well, her Mum figured it out really - but I think her keeping it from her Dad when so many people know is a very bad idea and when he finds out he's not gonna be very happy at all.
The final fight scene between Oliver and Ra's al Ghul was pretty good. I'm now trying to figure out how Oliver isn't dead because logically speaking he isn't dead because he's the Arrow. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out in the next few episodes. I thought it was interesting during his "death" that he thought of Thea, his mother and Felicity. Was Sara in there too? But no mention of Laurel, Tommy or Diggle (that I remember).
Oh, and Ray's share his weird suit idea with Felicity? I'm really not sure about this guy - I want to believe him but I just don't trust what he's up to. Is he bad?
After that I watched the midseason finale of "Forever" - 1x11 - this was a pretty decent midseason finale and I totally knew who the caller was gonna be as soon as they introduced his character. I really with Henry would confide in Jo though. I know he has his reasons (and he doesn't have to tell her about the immortal thing) but he clearly needs police help now and I think he needs to tell her that the guy they thought was his stalker wasn't really. I don't think he can handle this anymore.
This weeks "Franklin & Bash" was fun as usual.
Oh, and I also watched the first episode of "The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies" last night (I have TiVo'd the second). I thought it was pretty interesting and I always thought the way he was treated by the press was shocking. Seeing it from his point of view made it even more shocking. Jason Watkins was really good too.
