Did you miss me?

I buzzed my hair off again last night - I had considered the possibility of growing it out this year but it was just annoying me so much it had to go. I guess having my own clippers is a good and a bad thing because if I had to book an appointment at the hair dressers I probably wouldn't bother.

I always like the idea of long hair - and it's great on other people - but I just can't be bothered with it for myself. Having it this short is just super low maintenance.

Sherlock 3x03

I enjoyed this episode but I didn't think it was as good as the other two. And to be honest, I didn't really know what was going on for a lot of it. I think maybe Magnussen needed a better build up - which, obviously, happens when there's only three episodes a season (or series). I think with more of a build up to his character it could have been really interesting.

I did suspect something was amiss with Mary and as soon as John said she wears that perfume I knew that the person holding that gun was her. I didn't expect her to shoot Sherlock though but I guess as Sherlock said if she'd wanted to kill him she could have and would have. I'm just surprised that she survived, to be honest. I was sure she'd die at the end. I'm quite glad that didn't happen because it wouldn't have been fair on John, I know he had to deal with her betrayal and not being who she said she was but I think that's preferable to her bering dead, right?

I thought it was pretty cool that they showed Sherlock's drug addiction and as soon as John went to that drug den I knew Sherlock was gonna be there. I enjoyed seeing John being a badass in there though.

I liked how understanding Sherlock was with the Mary situation and how he explained it all to John in a way that he knew John would understand - and he knew that he would forgive her in the end because he loved her. I thought Martin Freeman was really good during those scenes, btw.

I liked the final moments when Sherlock killed Magnussen - and he did it for John. For John and Mary. Because he knew they couldn't be happy with the treat of Magnussen hanging over Mary's head. There was no other way, was there? I was thinking that as the scene went on actually - that if all the information he had was in his head then the only way to destroy it all was to kill him. I was surprised it took Sherlock as long as it did to do it. Especially knowing that John had his gun in his pocket (incidentally, the scene when Sherlock asked John if he'd brought the gun was really cute). I thought it was quite sad when Sherlock was saying goodbye to John knowing that he'd never see him again. It didn't last long though!

And that ending? So Moriarty is back? How did he fake his death then? I guess we have a new mystery to work on during this hiatus. And now we wait. Again.

Oh, and Sherlock using that Janine woman? That was arsey, even for Sherlock. I did like the scenes when John saw them together though. His reactions were funny.

In other news: It was the Golden Globes last night. I was pleased Alfonso Cuaron won best director because I think he's really good - and "Gravity" was a great movie. I was also quite pleased that Tatiana Maslany didn't win for "Orphan Black". I feel really mean saying that and I know she plays various different characters in that show and she's quite good at it but her English accent just bugs me so much. Speaking of that show, I haven't watched the last four (I think?) episodes of season 1 yet. Still on my TiVo box. I'm not sure how I managed to get behind in the first place. Maybe because BBC3 showed them in double bills for some reason.
