Castle 6x03
I really enjoyed this episode. I thought the case of the week was really cool and I loved the involvement of Ryan and Esposito - it was fun seeing them working the case from the crime scene to the morgue. We don't normally see them doing that kinda thing so I really enjoyed that. It was cool when Castle convinced them to let him help them too. I really like the dynamic between those three. And I thought it was cool when Beckett and her FBI partner ended up in NY too which then caused some problems between everyone because she couldn't tell them what was going.
I loved Ryan being all fanboy-y about the show the murder victim used to be in (loved the scene of him in the hat! Lol!) and Esposito pretending he'd never see it before. I especially loved Ryan's insistence that the victim was actually a really good actor and I thought it was cool when the CIA dude told them the vic was working under cover for the CIA and was actually pretty good. Loved Ryan's “duh, told you so” expression and response. It's always good when Ryan and Esposito get more to do and I especially like it when it's comedic stuff.
It did bug me when they watched a clip from the victims old show though - there's no way a recording from 1992 would have had a picture quality that good! Things weren't filmed in HD back then!
I thought the Castle and Beckett stuff was good this week too - I especially liked that it wasn't the main focus of the episode - and I liked it at the end when Castle said he'd brought a place in DC so they wouldn't need to do the long distance thing but why didn't he just do that in the first place? Since last years finale I'd been wondering why he didn't just move with her, there's nothing really keeping him inNew York. I didn't see it coming that Beckett would get fired from her FBO job though - even after what she did. I guess she does deserve it though as she must have known what she did was wrong and that she'd be found out in the long run. They are the federal government after all! I wonder what's gonna happen now though? I suspected that she'd end up back at NYPD soon but I didn't think it would be like this. And if she does come back what happens to Sully? I quite liked the introduction of him as it makes sense that they'd have a new detective to replace Beckett.
Oh, and guest star wise, it was cool seeing James Patrick Stuart (aka Dick Roman from "Supernatural") and as soon I saw him in the opening scene finding the dead body I knew he'd end up in the episode again later on. They wouldn't have just used him for that. Antonio Sabato, Jr was pretty good in it too - especially during the scene in his characters acting class. I've heard that acting like a bad actor is really hard and he did a good job there.
Before watching that I watched the penultimate episode of "Do No Harm" - 1x12. I thought this a was another good episode and I'm interested in how things are gonna end in next weeks season finale. I've quite enjoyed this show but I think it's kinda fitting that there's only one season. I just hope it ends properly.
After "Castle" I watched "CSI:NY" - 9x14. Thought it was a pretty good episode. I can't believe there's only three more episodes left ever. I hope this ends well too.
Finally I watched "Perception" - 2x06 - I really enjoyed this episode and I loved that Daniel and Donnie teamed up for a case and I thought their chemistry was really good and I'm looking forward to their possible future friendship. It would be nice seeing Daniel with a guy friend - it could make for some interesting scenes. I hope we see more scenes of them together.
Btw, was Rachael Leigh Cook pregnant during the filming of this episode (I know she had a baby fairly recently)? I noticed a few strategically placed folders during this episode.
