Happy Bank Holiday Monday

No work for me today as it's Bank Holiday. Not sure what I'm gonna do with myself today yet.

Last night I watched "Glee" - 4x17 - so this episode was called "Guilty Pleasures". Now, I don't really believe in guilty pleasures when it comes to music (or anything really), if you like something I don't think you should feel guilty about it. During this episode almost every artist they were ashamed of liking made me go "there's nothing wrong with liking them!". Come on, what's wrong with liking Wham!, Phil Collins or Barry Manilow? All three have made good music. And there's nothing wrong with liking the Spice Girls either. I'm not a fan but they made some good pop songs and there's nothing wrong with that. As such I enjoyed most of the songs performed in this episode - I think a stand out for me might have been Blaine's "Against All Odds". I really liked it when Blaine does an emotional number. Darren Criss is really good at that kinda thing. In fact I've started to really like Blaine as a character (I think that might be because Darren Criss seems like a really nice guy in real life) and I loved the scenes between him and Sam during last nights episode, I thought the scene when Sam realised how Blaine felt about him was really well handled and I thought it was really sweet that it didn't bother Sam at all and didn't affect their friendship. I think their friendship is a part of this show I'm really enjoying right now.

I also liked how Jake interpreted the "guilty pleasures" assignment of the episode to be something he really truly feels guilty about liking to listen to because of how the performer is in real life rather than it just not being considered cool. In my opinion no-one should feel guilty about liking something that isn't considered cool but liking something performed by someone who is known for his violent behaviour is different and could cause someone to feel guilty about liking their music.

I found the Rachel stuff in NY pretty boring - and Rachel just annoys me generally. I did like her and Brody's performance of "Creep" though. It's a good song.

After that I rewatched "Hawaii Five-0" 3x18 and I actually think I enjoyed it a little more the second time around. I loved the scene when Danny revealed his knowledge about Roller Derby and everyone's reactions to it. It was a great little team moment. I still don't think Catherine and Steve are completely fine after he discovered she's lied to him though, I have a feeling it's gonna come back before the end of the season.  I'm assuming the final couple of episodes are gonna be about Doris so maybe the Catherine thing will come up again then? While I was watching it I was thinking how cool it would be to have a Diamond Dolls T-shirt. I wonder if anyone's made any?

Then I watched "Dexter" - 7x11 - well, I think Hannah's realised when it comes to the choice between her or Deb, Dexter is always gonna choose Deb. Did Hannah actually poison Deb then? I've been trying to think if it could have been anyone else, is there a reason anyone else would try to hurt or even kill her? I can't think of anyone else so it must have been Hannah, right? It's like Dexter said, when it comes to protecting herself she'd do anything even if it did mean hurting the person she apparently loves sister.

Interesting that they planted that evidence to take LaGuerta way from suspecting Dexter although she didn't really believe the newly discovered evidence, did she? She suspected someone had planted the evidence - which makes sense really because if the evidence was there then surely someone would have found it? It's the finale next week, I wonder what's gonna happen?

Finally I watched "Once Upon a Time" - 2x05 - I thought this episode was pretty interesting but I'm still not really loving this season so far. I quite liked the Regina stuff this week. It's good to find out that she's not all bad and the death of her fiance practically destroyed who she was. It was also interesting to see more about David Anders' character. My recording of this last night cut the ending off (because I was recording 2 things at 8pm and 2 things at 9pm the end of this show got clipped) but I'm assuming he's Frankenstein, right? I didn't see what I think was the final scene.

I'm glad Emma was introduced to Hook because I've heard that loads of people ship them and I'm interested in seeing what happens between them. And I still love Snow/Mary Margaret's hair.

I'm currently watching a rerun of the quiz show "Cleverdicks", a regular member of our quizzing team is on it! Weird seeing someone I know in real life on TV.

quiz night, tv: once upon a time, tv: glee, tv: dexter, tv: hawaii five-0
