Happy Valentine's Day everyone - I hope you all have fun with your loved ones in whatever form they take. Me? I'm gonna be spending my Valentine's evening with Sam and Dean by watching the latest episode of "Supernatural". Awesome.
Last night I watched "Bones" - 8x06 - a serious one this week which actually makes a nice change because sometimes they can get a bit flippant about dead people. But not this week. I thought they did a pretty good job of this episode, I can imagine it would be a lot more moving for American people. It was great seeing all the interns teaming up to solve the case and the scene of them all remembering where they were on 9/11 was really well done. It was nice that they all managed to figure out what happened to that man, when no-one else really seemed to care back in the day.
I'm never sure about Emily Deschanel's acting during emotional scenes. I can't figure out if Brennan's emotionally stunted and she's a good actress or whether she's just not that good at them. The final scene between Brennan and Booth seemed a bit lacking to me.
Nice that they did this kind of episode to air around Veteran's Day. Good for the show for doing something.
After that I watched "Beauty and the Beast" - 1x05 - another strong episode of this show, which I think just continues to improve. I'm really starting to like the relationship between Cat and Vincent and while it was nice of him to tell her to stay away for her own good I loved that she told him she could have up her own mind and she wanted to keep seeing him, even if it did mean lying to other people in her life.
I thought it was quite sad when she invited him to dinner and he was gonna go but then he passed out and woke up on top of the bridge (what?). As soon as he had that dizzy spell earlier in the episode I think it was kind of obvious that something was quite wrong and something bad was gonna happen. I wonder what that's all about? Clearly it must have something to do with the experiments that were done on him. And now Cat just thinks he didn't want to come to their dinner.
I thought the case of the week was pretty interesting too. I like the way they're balancing cases with the Vincent stuff.
