1. I've stayed up until 5 working on a paper. I would pull an all-nighter if I *had* to. My normal bed time is usually between 2 and 3 am. It sucks. Last week I stayed up until 4:30 two nights in a row to work on a paper which i a) didn't finish and b) am now "working" on. There is no shittier feeling in the world. Well, there probably is. Like if your kitten died. But I don't want to think about it, because it would make me sad.
2. I don't think I could plagerize an serious content of papers. I my language classes, where i write many short papers it would absolutely be found out ( I have a destinctive style, what WHAT.) In other classes, I still doubt. It. Plus I wouldn't let myself. The only way I could see myself plagerizing would be by accident (i.e. not footnoting someone else's idea when i'm all cracked out with no sleep.) That would suck, but thankfully has never happened. Also, if you are caught plagerizing you get sent to JB and they cut you up so bad, you gonna wish they don't cut you up so bad (aka failing, expulsion etc., yeah here at smith it's called expulsion...we h-core not like those haverford pussies.)
3. Never done so myself. Know peeps who have. Are you proposing to sell?
4. I've written shitty papers, yes. But they were 100% genuine shite. I don't "fill" because I can imagine the look of disgust my my prof's face when they read it then mark it a big fat 0. If professors can't recognize bullshit, then why teh f*** am I paying 43 thousand dollars a year for them to teach me?
5. Pretty much what Erin said. Language classes esp. should have lots of little grades. No grade should be more than 20. And as a side not, final or "major" papers shouldn't be at the end of the semester, so as to give people the proper time for extensions so they can hand in a decent piece of work.
6. Never had one. That's a lie. I've stayed up late etc. and I spose i'm lucky that my friend who speaks italian stayed up until 3 as well so i could practice for her. But like Erin says, I mostly don't stress about presentations. *lies* But really, I don't.
7. This will sound rawther dorky, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the school around finals. Everyone was pumped and stressed. Classes weren't there to get in the way and I actually found it the only time i had enough time to focus only on the work at hand. Plus they had free coffee and doughnuts in the library. And a "Stress free" room in the Campus Center in which they had coloring books and games. Also they had a free masseur one day. And free snacks in the livingrooms of each house. Honestly, if it weren't for the finals part, finals would be a partay! Also, lots of coffee and cigarettes. But don't quote me on this.
8. No stories. I could tell you liz or Erin's, but i see they already did.
