Hi everyone. This is a survey I'm conducting for a final paper. It's about final papers. If you would be so kind to fill it out, I would be forever grateful. You can be as thorough as you like. It can be anonymous if you want.
Finals Survey
1. My bedtime is 9:30. What’s the latest hour you’ve ever stayed up working on a final paper/studying for a final exam? If it’s not very late, what is the latest you would allow yourself to stay up?
2. How easy do you think it would be to get away with plagiarizing a final paper? What do you think would be the consequences if you got caught? By the way, I’m selling mine online if it gets a good grade. Go to www.dirtyrottencheater.com.
3. Have you/do you know anyone who has taken “study drugs?” How easy do you think it would be to obtain some? It’s not for me, it’s for a friend.
4. Estimate your personal standard of final paper content. In other words, what percent is researched, refined, original rhetoric, and what percent is ‘filler’, or as some call it, ‘bullshit’? Have you ever gone below your standard?
5. Imagine you are teaching a college course. What percent of the final grade would you assign to the final exam or final paper? Why? And if you’re thinking, “It depends,” then what does it depend on?
6. What about final presentations? Any horror stories about one of those? It could be about you or about a friend, or someone you’ve heard about (let’s face it, it’s obviously you).
7. Are there any rituals you employ to get you through finals? Any foods/drinks you must consume during that fateful week?
8. Lastly, (dodged a fatal pun there, huh?) share any additional tidbits or nightmares or tall tales you’ve heard about ‘some guy/girl’ and their horrible/funny/ironic experience with finals.
