-Andy's checkup was uneventful, except for us acting out the "This Land" scene from Firefly with toy dinosaurs in the exam room. Yeah, we're dorks :)
-Mom sent Andy a Cubs onesie, which arrived in the mail yesterday. I don't care much about baseball, but it's nice of her to send him clothes. She usually sends one outfit a month. She waited a long time for grandkids, and now she's making the most of it.
And hey, it'd be nice for Cubs fans to see their team win a World Series after 100+ years of failure.

Things at work: we're almost done with the current animal study, but we'll be starting a new one in a couple weeks looking at using the contact lens to treat retinal edema. Boss is pretty excited about this. Most topical eye treatments (like eye drops) aren't able to reach the retina, so doctors rely on injections or implants to treat retinal problems. But we've shown we can achieve decent retinal drug levels in previous studies, so now it's time to see if it'll work to treat a disease. I'm thinking most people would rather wear a contact lens than have an eye injection.
