Happy Halloween

Oh yay..it's Halloween.   I think I can honestly say this is one of my least favorite holidays.  Every year for the past 8 years, everyone comes here and we have like a pot luck dinner, of course my contribution is pizza.  My kids are not allowed to go out till after it gets dark but go figure the door bell starts ringing at 4p.m. and won't stop till about 10 p.m. and once is all said and done I have yet again went thru $300 worth of candy given to kids I don't even know much less do they live in my neighborhood.   So for the rest of the day and most of the night my damn dogs will bark and before it's all said and done, I will have yet once again a famous headache.  I like the tradition that got started when Ant was very little, I just didn't realize it would still continue as all the kids got older.   I totally forgot about it until yesterday, Kate called to see what all was needed and I was like "oh yea, I have the pizza covered lol"   I don't remember going out trick or treating after 12 yrs old.  I can see Anthony wanting to do it, but I found out this morning Nicole has a few (wondering if a few means more then 20 like last year) kids coming over and they are going out also.  There goes me drinking wine and letting her answer the door.   I think after watching what happens in this neighborhood just made me hate this holiday more and more.  For the past 5 yrs, it's like kids from this town and the surrounding towns come, some even fall out of limo's to do trick or treating..wtf.   Whatever happened to walking to the houses near you and just going home?   I refuse to let Nicole and Anthony go to different one's.  There are enough around them and besides after about 3 days I just end up throwing all the candy out anyways.   Last year  we had the cops here directing traffic, that says alot since I live on a road that there is only one way in and one way out.  It's become so overrated that if it wasn't for my kids, I would just go out and let them ring a bell to a empty house.  The door bell has already started ringing, the dogs have already started barking as I type this and god I haven't even opened my wine..maybe scotch would be easier.

On top of all this, my darling son decides to see how bad he can scare me.  I hate spiders, not just hate but terrified of them to the point that I have stopped breathing before because of them.  He asked me to heat him up some cookies in the microwave, he wanted them warm...I go to put them in and I hit the button to open the door and of course there is this black plastic spider..I drop the plate of cookies and screamed.  This got him laughing...I started yelling, cursing, and threating his life only to be told "your so easy to scare mom".  I think I am going to start taking bids and give my kids to the lowest bidder.

On a different note, it's my niece's (chunka) bday wow already 3.  Nicole started working at a real job.  After much yelling telling her it was time to grow up and work she found a job on Saturday and started today.  Cookie Design, right up her ally lol.  They will teach her how to make them and how to make the gift baskets they sell.   Maybe she will start paying for her phone and nails..I somehow doubt it.

Hope everyone has a great Halloween, it's time for me to make a drink, rip the vocal cords out of my dogs, and pray it starts raining.
