I knew there was a reason I hung out with these people ;)
I love my awesome, wonderful friends. Marci lent me her huge truck for the weekend. Ken, Andy, Jenell, & Rob came over on a Saturday morning to lift heavy objects into and out of said truck, and large pieces of furniture up the stairs. Physical labor on a Saturday morning! When we went to pick up the flooring, the salesgirl remarked how lucky I was to have so many friends who would do that for me. And it would have taken me all day to do what we did in about half an hour.
Also, can I just say, that men are strong and it's not fair. After living either alone or with only women for the past nine years, when I see guys carry things like solid wood furniture, I feel a sort of honest-to-god Superman awe. Like, you just moved that dresser! With your hands! That's amazing! Does anybody else know you can do this, or is it a secret?
Jenell asked if I would be having the Pumpkin Party again. "Of course!" I said, glancing around at my dismantled home and starting to feel very tired. At this point I have a chair, a TV, and a bed left, all of which I am reluctant to disturb to tear up the carpet underneath. But I can do it. I can. I have a week left before the floors go down, and then three weeks after that for the party.
