I'm going to Seoul with Sendya in November!
Sendya is my korean classmate, and we became acquainted during one of the first few lessons. While we were having one of our breaks, I was talking to her and Stephanie (another classmate of mine who's a DBSK fan!) and casually mentioned that I would like to go to Seoul for holiday at the end of this year if possible. She then said if I don't mind then I could go with her since she was thinking about going back in November during our holiday, and said something along the lines of, "You just need to buy the air ticket, and as for accomodation, well, I'm korean!" In other words, she invited me to stay at her house and also said that she would gladly bring me around.
I was contemplating whether to go or not, because my parents did say that I've been travelling too much when I told them last month that I wanted to go to Korea, and said that they'd let me go next year. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to go, so I decided that I would go, and use the money that I earned from the job at Changi Airport to pay for my ticket.
Today, Sendya and I went on an intensive search for cheap tickets. We went from agency to agency, and all gave us almost the same rate for Cathay Pacific Air at ~$510. We ended up at Cathay's office in the end because Sendya will be returning at a later date in December, and all the flights in December are fully booked. But luck was not on our side as the agent at Cathay gave us the same reply, and in the end, we decided that I would buy the promotion ticket from Cathay, while Sendya would get the one from Asiana that is $300 more expensive, but is a direct flight.
My itinerary! Cathay didn't accept NETS, so I had to go to the nearest ATM to withdraw money. But as we were walking, the strap of my shoe came off! Sendya then pulled me to a bench of some sort, took off her shoes and told me to wear them. So I wore her shoes (they were abit tight as her shoe size is 1 size smaller) and hurried to the ATM and back. When I returned, Sendya was sitting barefooted with her legs propped up, and my sandals dangling off her fingers. It was pretty funny sight because we were in the business district area, and there she was sitting there in such an unglam manner! While we were exchanging shoes (I bought glue to glue the straps), she kept laughing and said, "So many people looking at us!" Haha.
I cannot believe that it was only last week that Sendya and I were talking about our trip, and today we bought our tickets! It'll also be my first time flying alone (although I don't intend to let my parents know because my mum will worry) and I'm pretty psyched about that! If I'm lucky, I might even be able to go skiing! And Sendya...even though November is 2 months away, she has already set me up on a blind date with one of her friends! I was so surprised when she told me, but she'll be going with me so I don't mind. Stephanie said that Sendya is actually a pimp in disguise. Haha. Blind dates are really common in Korea, so I guess she thought it would be fun for me to go on one.
Mich and Mel both sent me messages today that really made my day. Thank you. :)
