Sky High Skylark

I know they say not to count ones chickens before they hatch, and today isn't quite over yet, but I've had such a wonderful day so far that I wanted to go ahead and share it. Although the day itself was good, though, the premise really isn't. We had to dip into our rent money to buy food for the week and pay our phone bill. Setting aside the outrageousness of Verizon, we did really well, especially with how well we maximized the food budget. We're going to be eating quite decently for the next week, and I can't tell you how thrilled I am at that.

As with that, everything else seems to have gone so well, too. The campus bookstore got our authorization to buy on advance done promtly, so we headed to the bookstore. We knew we were going to have to buy a couple of extra books to sell back at half-price for cash, which in the long run hurts though there weren't any options left, but two things happened that made it as painless as possible. First, we had enough to pay for all our books without running over the ridiculously paltry limit. Then, when we went to books and more, the guy thought Misty was cute, so he managed to work it out to where we got $20 extra back. Then, I ran a book into the campus bookstore where the guy was very sweet. It was a book that was in very limited demand, but I made it in just under the wire, and he, too, gave me the maximum back. We did incredibly well, covering not only the gap in the rent but enough for me to be able to (FINALLY!) start paying Elvia back a little for all her generosity. I'm putting you on notice, Hon. ^__~ I was initially worried that we weren't going to be able to keep the date this Friday (or Saturday-which do you prefer?), but after things went so well today, I can. I'm really looking forward to it.

Speaking of looking forward to things, the Fullmetal Alchemist download finished! I took a sneak peek at the first episode, and the picture is DVD quality. It's going to be awesome; I hope to share the experience with both Elvia and Rosie. Also, thanks Rosie-hime for getting us hooked. ^____^

I think I'll wrap this up for now as there's a fine line between ebullience and babble. ¡Os quiero!
