A mothers Day not to be forgotten

I was heard. Not from the mountain top, or from the depths of the valley. No, I was heard loud and clear at the dinning room table. My uncle crossed the line. He was instituting racist thoughts to his 9 year old daughter. I put my foot down. I slowly got up. Spoke my peace, quietly and securly. I then walked out of the house, leaving my family's mouths open wide. I smiled. I recieved more appluase than anything that day. I was thinking i was going to get the usual " your a disgrace to the family", but rather i recieved " It was about time". I made a small difference today. Even if it was just in my own life, knowing that i can truely stand up to ignoratn thinking, I made a difference. All becuase, I was heard.
