EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *runs around flailing hands and squeeing incomprehensibly* SO MUCH LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE. :DDDDDD Every single scene, every line, was PERFECT - so much more awesome than I ever, ever imagined, and I spent a good three years trying to write this movie before I got into online fandom. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AWESOME.

Also the Howlers. HOWLERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS. And the Skull not looking like an idiot; I am agog. (I quite like his trench coat. It looks almost exactly as I designed it, lol.) And BUCKY ACTUALLY HAVING A STORY ARC AND AGENCY AND STUFF (I had Nick in that role, but Bucky works so much better). And Steve being, well, STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE *flailyhands and silly grin*. And everything.

Especially this exchange: "What made you so special?" - "Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." Heart of the movie, and the thing that made me decide I was going to see it on first run when I caught it in the trailer. HEART OF THE MOVIE. I AM SO RIDICULOUSLY OVER THE MOON. THEY DID IT RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. :DDDDDD I spent a solid year trying to write that single scene and never got it nailed down; WHAT A MOVIE.

'Scuse all the capslock. ;-) Just... I HAVE BEEN WAITING IN TREPIDATION FOR THIS MOVIE FOR SEVEN YEARS AND THEY DID IT RIGHT. SO MUCH RIGHTER THAN I COULD EVER POSSIBLY HAVE HOPED FOR. AND NOW EVERYBODY (who is into Marvel movies anyway) KNOWS THE SAME CAP I'VE BEEN A FAN OF FOR YEARS AND THEY'RE ALL GOING TO BE WRITING ABOUT HIM. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :DDDDD

Also the USO thing. That was brilliantly worked out. (I love that the shield started as a way to hide his cue cards, lol.) And all the FANTASTIC CONTINUITY RETCONNING thrown in with it for anybody insane fannish enough to get it.

And THE SCENE WITH THE FLAG. Which was nothing I ever thought of in any way, shape, or form, and OH MY GOSH THAT WAS BRILLIANT STEVE ROGERS I LOVE YOU SO FRICASSEEIN' MUCH!!!!! ♥ That, right there, is one of three scenes that sum up Captain America. (The others being the grenade scene, OH STEVE HOW SO AWESOME, and "kid from Brooklyn". *nodnod*)

(Well, and there is also his sense of humor - which has always been so hard for me to catch, especially since I only had two or three examples to work off of, but they nailed it throughout. So fantastic. I'm hoping to see a lot more of that in movie-inspired fic.)

Also Dr Erskine. I was very sadface that he had to die. FOR HE WAS EPIC. Dr Erskine rocks.

...I notice that I am not mentioning Peggy very much. I liked her and her storyline, but I just couldn't get terribly attached to her because, y'know, we all know he's getting frozen and coming to 2011 at the end. *shrugs*

(You know what? Stan's a real jerk sometimes, to his characters. All that aaaaaaangst.)

But the middle of the movie was CAP AND BUCKY AND THE HOWLING COMMANDOES: THE MOVIE, which I had never expected to see at all, and it was THE MOST FANTASTIC THING EVER and I was squeeing all the time. And I want ALL THE FIC about all the bazillion missions they went on in between times AND HOW AWESOME THEY WERE. :DDDDDD

Also there was CAPTAIN AMERICA ON A MOTORCYCLE JUMPING OVER THAT WALL, which - EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! :DDDDD Sorry, I am such a geek. ;D

ALSO THE SHIELD-SLINGING!!!!!!!!!!!! *so, so, so darn gleeful about how perfect it was* *also running around outdoors (and, er, sometimes indoors) chasing my very own shield-frisbee which utterly refuses to return to me, lol*

(Although I am sort of getting the hang of making it go somewhere near where I want it. How cool is that? XD *has always been terrible at Frisbee*)
