Once upon a time, Apple took a halfway decent desktop computer,
hobbled it, and came up with the
Pippin.
Thirteen and a half years later, they've uncorked the Stupid
Sauce and poured a generous quantity on a tablet computer.
Sigh, whimper.
By the end of this year, I want to see at least one
significant competitor announce an ARM-based Netbook with a
comparable display, a built-in SDHC slot, running a "fully
functional" open-source operating system, and retailing for
$100 less. Bonus points if they play nice with Sprint and Verizon.
