Chicago, day 6

I bid a fond farewell to Chicago. I work a half-day in the hotel room, check out, and enjoy the afternoon before my flight home.

I decided to walk the Magnificent Mile. High end shops, high end hotels, tourist trap. Nice, busy area, but then it started raining out of nowhere...not so magnificent. I took refuge in the Water Tower Place, a nice mall, without really having a mall feel to it.

But I wasn't in the mood to shop, so I headed straight to the John Hankok building and up to The Signiture Room at the 95th floor. Great view of course even though it was still cloudy and raining. It is definitely one of the top places to visit in Chicago, but be prepared for crowds and paying up the ass for food and drinks.

For a snack, I tried Wow Bao because it was close by. They look to be a popular chain that serves Chinese style dumplings. I had the spicy mongolian beef and chicken teryaki dumplings. I must say that they were quite tasty with a good variety to choose from.

Also, I had dinner in the airport at South Coast Dogs. They seemed to be more authentic Chicago dogs than I've had earlier. But I personally prefer the fresher taste of America's Dog.

It was a good time to go home too, because the heat and humidity was definitely coming in. And I was seriously missing some good asian food, which downtown Chicago lacks. As usual for me, I love to get away; and Chicago was a great escape. But it's always nice to be back home.
