Last weekend was Alchemy 2013. It was the seventh Alchemy, and I’ve participated in all but the first. Standard apology for updating so infrequently.

When last we heard from our intrepid hero, I’d just accepted a job at Emory Libraries. Well, in fact I’d been there for several months when I posted, but my post only included up to about May-ish. Of 2009.
( But at least it’s been good-busy )

So I know I’ve never been the best at keeping up with posting to LJ, but this year I’ve actually had good reason. You see, 2009 has been insane. ( Insanely busy, to be precise. )

sannion recently asked for tokens of beauty as part of a month-long devotion to Aphrodite and Hathor. I dunno much about Hathor, but when I think of Aphrodite, one of the first things that comes to my mind is usually a particular Sappho fragment. Last time I posted was from New Jersey, visiting my father for Thanksgiving. It's been so long that prior to today I'd not even seen the new LJ Update page that some of my friends have been bitching about. Contrary to what my silence since then may have implied, I have not died, nor have I been hiding under a rock. I have been really crazy busy.
