Busy busy busy!

Busy busy, so I'll keep this somewhat brief.

Excellent weekend. Saturday was the Atlanta Greek Festival with radiantbaby, wheezinggirl, and oneandonlymatt, followed by muchlygood chatter at their place. Sunday I don't remember, actually. I don't have anything down in my calendar, but I seem to recall it as a time of bills and other home-stuff. Relaxy, getting-things-done day. Good stuff.

Monday was my first day at my new job at ISS. Whee! Lots to report, but no time right now. For now, suffice it to say that I am a happy camper. Looks like a really good place for me. I'm fitting in well and really getting moving. Monday night was choir practice. That's going really well: there's certainly a good chunk of stuff left to clean up in the Brahms, but it's progressing quite nicely. Unfortunately in the work insanity I forgot my pencil. Oops. On the plus side, though, I got some unsolicited and seemingly sincere compliments from one of the other more-experienced tenors in the group. It really made my evening.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was more work. More good good stuff as I catch up and learn their systems. Some foosball with a former coworker from ages ago at SecureWorks. Then to Borders for the monthly sehellenes Atlanta social. It was pretty much just radiantbaby, wheezinggirl, and me, but that's more than in previous months. It grows! Yay!

Oh, and yesterday was also my 2-1/2-year mensaversary with radiantbaby! Yay!! *happydance*

And now it's Wednesday. Good learny meetings and learning stuff about the systems and processes around here. Almost ready to start getting actual work done! Had a coworker notice the "Today's Music Menu" I posted on my whiteboard -- CDs I'd brought to work today to rip and share (within the bounds of copyright law, of course). He grinned and said, "I can tell we're going to get along." Apparently he was fairly attentive of the alternative music scene long ago, but he lost track of it in the bustle of getting married many years ago. Fortunately, somehow recently he's managed to pick it back up. So when he noticed my Music Menu, the world stopped and we babbled a bit. Happyfunmusicgeekness.

Since it came up, yesterday's Music Menu:
  • David Bowie -- Ziggy Stardust
  • Iggy & the Stooges -- Raw Power
  • Sonic Youth -- Sister
  • The Gories -- Outta Here
  • The Dirtbombs -- Horndog Fest
  • Tiger! Tiger! -- Collisions

And today's:
  • The Dirtbombs -- Ultraglide in Black
  • The Von Bondies -- Pawn Shoppe Heart
  • The Kills -- Keep on Your Mean Side
  • The Muffs -- Happy Birthday to Me
  • This Moment in Black History -- Midwesterncuttalistick
  • Scout Niblett -- Uptown Top Ranking
  • The Starlite Desperation -- Violate a Sundae

And now it's Date night with radiantbaby! Yay!!
