Date with
radiantbaby Wednesday evening. We had dinner at Summits -- I had yummy-yummy wings. Why is it that people only ever sell wings in sets of 10 anymore? I can never eat more than 6. It's annoying.
Then we saw
My Super Ex-Girlfriend. I'm not usually a romantic comedy fan. I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed one. MSEG, though, was actually surprisingly really fun. It's not a genius, Oscar-winning, world-changing movie, but it's a fun diversion. I recommend it. And then we went home and crashed.
Tuesday night was a date with
riff_77. Saw
Pirates of the Caribbean. Mixed feelings on the movie. The effects overall were good, but some of them I thought were subpar. The plot was basically predictable, though it had some fun moments. Overall pretty so-so, but not a complete waste of money, especially if you've got company as good as mine was :-)
Then a little fun alone time and a late dinner at Steak and Shake! Yum! Some excitement on the way to S&S: a cop randomly pulled us over just as we got there. I say randomly because as far as I could tell I wasn't doing anything wrong. Apparently, though, my headlights were out. As I took
riff_77 home, there were half a dozen cops surrounding some SUV. As I was coming home from dropping her off, most of the cops were gone, but one of them decided to pull me over and tell me yet again that I was missing a headlight. WTF? Has there been a recent crackdown on this or something? Much oddness. Anyway, overall, much fun was had by all.
Friday over lunch I decided I needed a new screwdriver at work. I'd been borrowing a coworker's off and on for the week, and I couldn't find my old one, so I went out to Home Depot over lunch and got a nice one. As I was driving there, I noticed that
Georgia Perimeter College has a campus right around the corner from my office. I'm quite tempted to enroll and get some core classes out of the way (and raise my GPA along the way) while working before going back to school full-time in a year or three. I hope to look into that in the next week or two. As soon as I figure out which building down there is administration. They're not incredibly well-labeled from the street. Whee!
Friday night, after all the activity of the past nights, I was just plain dead. I crashed into bed as soon as I got home -- like 8:00ish -- and didn't get up until 10 this morning. That was quite, quite nice.
