Saturday and on

Saturday started out with errands. A fair number of them, here and there. Lunch, groceries, post office. Then we had a little time, so radiantbaby and I braved North Point Mall traffic to find me a new coat. My old was was getting quite threadbare and had been in for repairs more times than I could count recently. Coming apart at the seams is bad enough; it had gotten to the point that it was coming apart well away from the seams, which means time for a new coat. radiantbaby promised me one for Christmas, and we had a little time, so we went shopping. Getting into the mall parking lot was a pain, but past that the shopping experience wasn't all that bad. I did learn, however, that London Fog is actually the low end of nice overcoats. I've somehow managed to avoid this realization in the past. I now drool over Italian cashmere coats.

After shopping was gaeasson's birthday party. Huge turnout. Saw many friends. The Italian food was generic in type but tasty in quality. Overall a very pleasant evening out.

Later on, a very pleasant night was had with friends. Some of those friends are becoming much closer, which is quite nice. Saturday night lasted well into Sunday morning, so most of Sunday afternoon was taken up with recovery. Pleasant recovery.

Which of course has me up late tonight.

Reading for the weekend... I made myself some vocabulary flashcards for the first lesson of Pharr's Homeric Greek: A Book for Beginners and have been quizzing myself on them. A little Illuminatus!. No Aphrodite Grecque, but I'm going to try to get through a little of that next before I head off to bed tonight.
