Hope everyone who celebrated had a merry Christmas!
Doll reticule, 60s sunglasses, two celluloid fans, shoe clips, darners, and tiny gloves
This fan is gorgeous, with mother of pearl, bone, and bobbin lace. Unfortunately, it's in bad shape.
Collar and undersleeves, I guess?
Jewelry I picked out for DH to buy. ;) I want to make a fancy gown and use them on the stomacher.
Whee! Costume Close-Up, some Peterson's magazines, and a book called Fashion Design 1850-1895. Has anyone seen that book before? I'm not familiar with 19th century fashion books, but this one is full of engravings. Unfortunately, there is no context whatsoever to go with the illustrations.
I also got "The Cut of Men's Clothes" and "Textiles in America" and the rest of the books in the Baroque Cycle. I have a lot of reading ahead! Movie-wise, I received The Princess Bride (20th Anniversary - I'm so old!), Hairspray, Ned Kelly, and Notes on a Scandal. Mom gave me a doll stove and some assorted doll-sized dishes and accessories, some vintage Christmas stuff, and the requisite socks and the like.
If anyone's interested, I can post pages from the Peterson's; they date from 1879 to 1888.
