Long time, no see!

Now that we've moved and things are settling down a little, I'm going to dip my toe back in here. One day, I'll get some "after" pics of our house, when all those last little projects (hanging pics and curtains, etc.) are done.

Someone was making the argument that the poor couldn't afford colored clothing, which makes no real sense to me. A cheap dye process isn't really adding that much to the cost of producing fabric, and most consumers would prefer *some* kind of color for outer garments, so I don't see manufacturers producing lots of undyed fabric.

I suppose it would be true that clothing would tend to turn grey from wear and laundering, but that doesn't mean that the poor were a monochromatic sea of grey.
