Some people have it really bad. Neighboring counties were knocked out completely as a couple of those huge, steel, high-tension contraptions went down, so no electricity was even available to them. AT&T lost a main trunk line so there was no long distance and no cellular service in our area for at least a day or two, and according to the news, no weather radio. I think all the counties have at least some power now, but some rural customers probably have up to another week before they're restored. Our town is swarmed with utility trucks from various states right now.
