Obligatory Sunday Journal Entry

Had people from church over for dinner this evening. "People" meaning a family of 6. haha  It was nice to visit with them and I think the kids really liked having guests over.

The weather the past couple days  has been what I've been waiting for all summer. Rain and cool temps. Today we had all the windows open. It practically felt like autumn was upon us.

School starts soon. We are ironing out some of the scheduling wrinkles and gearing up for everyone to be heading off to class. Even Noah is going to try his hand at a two day a week preschool set-up. I'm guessing he'll really like it, and the timing will work well with classes I have on T,R. Sabella is reDICuliously excited for starting Kindergarten. She's been asking if school is starting all summer. lol

Fred and I are really happy together. Things are good. We've picked up playing disc golf together for fun.
It'd be nice to slip away together for a couple days without the kids, but he'll be heading out to Indianapolis for GenCon next weekend.

In fitbit related news. I'm down 5 lbs. To me this seems like a very small amount, especially for three weeks of work, BUT Fred is encouraged at the way I'm really watching what I'm eating and exercising regularly. He thinks this could work long term --- and really, with the way I'm constantly counting calories, I think he might be right. I've never been so intent on regulating food intake vs. calories burned on a daily basis, but the fitbit makes it really really really easy - so things are chugging right along. If it does continue on well, I can't wait for the end of October. The goal is that by then I'll be down 30 lbs -- half way to dream weight.
Slow and steady wins the race. That's what I'll keep telling myself. That and "Yay fitbit!"
