Ha! 8 foot ladder. That beautiful. It is a government job, though, meaning it probably pays well, and they could just be clarifying so that you don't think you're on a step ladder or a two story ladder (or a 8 1/2 foot ladder, because those are dangerous!). I say go for it!

Maybe they are proud to have an eight footer!! Most companies probably have only 5-6 foot ladders...
