1. When I think Dave, I think punk rock. What are some of your favorite songs that no one would expect you to like?
In no particular order: Angry Young Man - Billie Joel; Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me - Elton John; Blackbird - Crosby, Stills, and Nash; Under Pressure - Queen and David Bowie; You Belong to Me - Taylor Swift (so sue me)...there are probably a ton, but these are the ones that immediately popped into my head as somewhat atypical (though really, the first four probably aren't as I was raised on classic rock).
2. I know that you have always had some interest in woman's fashion. What outfit do you think every 20-something girl should have in her closet?
I'll give a couple, because I can. First, something that can be both casual and pseudo-dressy - a decently nice pair of capris (usually dark in color, but a light gray or even a white can work depending on the season) with a nicer camisole can be something casual for getting together with friends and then pair that with a dressier sweater or even a female sports coat for slightly dressier occasions. Another classic standby is a good skirt/shoe pairing because you can often interchange tops. Problem with this one is different body types need different skirts. For you ladies who may be on the less-than-tall side, you'd probably want to go with something right at or even slightly above the knee and possibly a heal that you'd be comfortable in (pinstripes are always in style). For you taller ladies, below the knee can work because it won't truncate your legs and make you look short. Tops can range from formal blouses to t-shirts, occasion dependent. This can easily be transformed into an interview suit with the purchase of a matching or close-enough jacket - dark black skirt, dark blue blazer, etc.
3. Who are some of your heroes of the faith?
St. Thomas Aquinas for the whole faith and reason bit; St. Jude, patron saint of lost causes; and St. Peter, the constant screw up of the 12 (I say this specifically because of the, "Peter do you love me?" section and the whole denial/running away during the trial and crucifixion of Christ).
4. I know you're looking at a number of different degrees right now to help you get a better job. Are you actually interested in the degrees, or would you prefer to do something totally different if you could?
I'm interested in the degrees and the doors they open. Econ's always been something I've been interested in, as has law (still technically a possibility...), but the opportunities (specifically, hopefully, government employment) would be nice, too. If I could do anything, it would be something creative - either photography or music, preferably.
5. What were some of your favorite children's books when you were growing up?
Hatchet - Gary Paulsen; The Outsiders - Susan Eloise Hinton; Where the Wild Things Are - Maurice Sendak; The Muppets Alphabet book.
