(no subject)
i didnt get enough sleep last night. we were here til almost 2 am. i got home and had a beer and conversation with the lovely lea after a long hot shower.....then promptly hit the wall. i dont remember anything past my last thought of...
"wow...this pillow feels so cool and softtt............"
id taken several trips to the grid (92 feet) and the operating rail (45 feet) last night, so my legs were really tired today when i woke up. and i have to say i woke up like t-rex growling and complaining that my arms were too short. (picture it...i swear thats what i look like when i wake up grouchy!) poor lea.....she tried everything she could to make the "morning" easier. after i came to life i walked over to momma and pops to see how the progression was going on in their bathroom. this week they are laying wood floor in their house, so weve been doing some prep work. i have to admit its been mostly them considering my schedule.....so monday instead of moving stuff id promised to do for lea, she and i are going to help momma and pop finish their bathroom. i swear, i have no idea how it is that i have lucked out having her and my family. its staggering.
but now im back at work. we have the distillers dinner tonight. uuummmm...bourbon and a fancysmanchy dinner onstage. so ive been talking bourbon all afternoon with a distiller from buffalo trace. i have to say yall...they make some good bourbon!(its not that we are "drinking" at work....its more like "tasting") so we will have yet another variety at the bourbon tasting at the tent this next year at mich!
i actually told the distiller about the "tasting"at mich and he was AMAZED that we just passed the bottles. he said "ill bet yall was messed up in minutes!"
why yes sir....yes..... we were!
im the only tech type person here. joe called in for the event, so its just me (wo)manning the ship tonight until he comes in after the event to help me set up for the church tomorrow morning. i dont mind that at all. tomorrow is a cluster of three shows on one stage......so im going to enjoy the easy day while i can!
there isnt much more going on from here right now......just me and my lightboard preparing to watch other folks onstage drink it up...missing all yall in a circle on coolers and campchairs around the tent doing the same.
