Hours that should have been sleep were hazy half-meditations, closed eyes and always worrying that shadow of a bond, anchoring it, trying to walk something that was too thin and weak and was compromised, or in the process of becoming so, on either side.
He had been inspecting the engineering decks, worrying over the photon torpedo banks for reasons he couldn't justify in any logical fashion. His padd, held up against his side, chimed with the incoming message. Coordinates.
Spock stepped up onto the bridge less than a minute later, having all but ran to the nearest turbolift and now over to Nyota's station. He figured her lack of standard uniform had something to do with the urgency of the situation. "From where did these coordinates originate?"

Voice all business, she glanced over her shoulder at the Commander as she tapped her screen, enlarging a section of space that the trace had told her the transmission originated from. "Here," she explained, performing the familiar act of passing Spock her earpiece so he could listen to the transmission himself. "I was checking all the frequencies and I found this. It's recent, like within an hour recent. And it's George." She didn't add what she was thinking, that it meant they were still alive, not wanting to get her hopes up any higher than they already were. Because sending that transmission was dangerous and if Nero found out... She didn't even want to think about that.

It was simple enough to step to her otherwise, push the substitute science officer out of the way so he could access the current trajectory they were following. The coordinates matched up with only some minor corrections.
Spock took a breath that may have been a quiet sigh of relief. They would deal with the troubling news of the message when it came, but for now--they had to find them. "It is...assuring."
