Theory Of Convergence: The Disclaimer

Nov 04, 2008 11:10

It has come to my attention that there are several readers of Theory of Convergence, who have invested their time reading the last twelve chapters (I thank you for that!!!) and expect a certain outcome.  I find myself having to cryptically answer certain comments and to sort of "sell" my fic, to reassure people, each time I post a new chapter.  A few have even asked to know how this fic will end. All of it is beginning to weigh on me because I feel as though I'm leading you all somewhere you may not want to go.

Rather than give away my ending I'm going to tell you why I started this fic and what my intentions are and if it turns you off, makes you unsure you want to continue, there will be no hard feelings if you decide to discontinue reading.  A total of 40 chapters is NOT out of the realm of possibility and I would HATE to have anyone invest all that time in something that evolves into a story they no longer want to read:

This was never intended to be an AU fic.  Will it ABSOLUTELY follow canon?  RT didn't so I guess I have some wiggle room, BUT my INTENTION from the get go was to fit this story into the timeline/canon we were given (in season one).  Was it ever stated that Logan and Veronica had a romance? No.  But there was never anything that proved otherwise, so THERE!

I began this fic because I ALWAYS believed, from that moment during lunch in the pilot, that there was more to Veronica and Logan than having been mutual co-horts in the Fab Four.  Such deep-seeded anger rarely happens between two people who were merely friends.

Then the limo scene in The Wrath of Con happened and I realized that there WAS more.  Regardless of what was SHOWN during the three seasons we were given.

Theory of Convergence is THAT story.  MY version of the events that lead up to them shooting daggers across the quad at each other during lunch in the pilot.

This is where you need to trust me. KNOW that I am a HARDCORE V/L shipper and I am trying to tell a story that is true to the characters we know and love and the story as it happens later. V/L and their relationship matter to me.  Very much.  I never believed that Logan was a one-dimensional OPJ, nor did I believe that Veronica truly hated him and I certainly don't believe Logan would turn on her simply because she ratted him out to Lilly.  So while I AM following canon, you may be surprised how I get them there... to that moment that solidified my belief that they truly were EPIC!
