Dive into a pool....
I've been listening to the CD I recieved on my way into Ashby Fest the other day- they asked for a $5 donation and gave you a New Pond Fondle CD. They're a local bank who's made it big but not commercial. They basically sponsored the event. I liked them during the show, although I admit I wasn't paying that much attention. But now that I have listened to the CD a few times, I like them a lot and would definitly recommend them. If you ever have chance to catch one of their shows or listen to some of their music DO IT! I have heard them classified as "groove-rock" which I guess is a pretty good description. The best way to compare them is that they are sort of Phish-like, only more rock and less hippie. They've got some good lyrics too, such as "tagedies and memories shipwrecked hearts and trampolines anxious for the mellow picture show broken hearts heal much to slow simple thoughts of yesterday filling in my mind broken down biographies and things you cant rewind so goodbye," and "standing on the edge of living feeling like I'm dead and girl if you wanna love me come fly off the handle with me" and catchy music to go with the lyrics.
