So the original apartment that Jessica and I were set to move into fell through. The landlord, scratch that. The landlord's daughter is a crazy woman. She waited 5 days, holding our money and wasting our time, before asking for another credit check and eventually a 2nd cosigner. She was unprofessional, rude, and just plain crazy. Even the apartment rental agent was shocked by her behavior. So we asked for our checks back and said we wanted to look elsewhere.
Let me say, it's a good thing Al likes us. As annoying, and somewhat insulting, as he was the 1st time we met him he has been very helpful and patient with this whole thing. I spent all day yesterday on and off the phone with him, with Jessica, with my mom just trying to figure all this out.
Fortunately Al doing his best and I should know by this afternoon whether or not we will be moving to another apartment that we looked at on the Somerville/Cambridge line. It's nice. It's in a brownstone-ish U-shapes building. It's a bit more cramped but there is an extra room for storage, or an office or sitting or whatever. And the nice thing is, it's only about a 5 min walk to the Davis Square T stop.
I just want everything to work out and for us to move and be happy. Is that too much to ask? I said to one of my coworkers yestersay it's like the opposite of 3rd time's the charm. I had very very easy rental/movign experience with my first 2 apartments and this has been so stressful.
Keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out this afternoon... and if we have a place to live, fear not we will have an apartment warming party (feel free to bring gifts!!) once we get settled. We will deserve a party.
Thats all.
