I've come to realize that the change in jobs was really good for me. My body has been pretty tired but my spirits have been up lately. So far I love my job. I have a title, Assistant Reservation Coordinator; I have a desk, with a great view of the Boston Commons; and I work with odd characters but good people. This job really has everything I looked for in my first post undergraduate job- I get to put a lot of the skills I have learned working in the FSC box office (and elsewhere) to use, it's also a wonderful learning experience because not only do I learn my job but I will be cross trained to many other things as well (such as working in the payment department as well as with the events coordinator), and of course the pay is decent and I get benefits. The location couldn't be better. I just love Boston. The city just feels so alive. There is always something going on, people moving around, interesting people doing interesting things (interesting = wierd). I want so badly to move here (or closer to here anyways) now but alas I will have to be patient. I have to finish out my lease, and keep my fingers crossed that my partner in crime will be moving here by then to take up residence in this wonderful city with me. I am sure there will be downsides to being in the city, and downsides to my job, but those are things that come with being any place and having any job. I'm not expecting everything to always feel so fresh but I can't really imagine not loving the movement of the city, or the job for that matter (working in the store was fun but this is much more interesting for me). Well I think I have gushed enough about the job and the city.
