And the beat goes on....

Where to begin?

A week ago today at this time I was on my way to Logan Airport to fly, first to Chicago, and then to Las Vegas.

Let's start by saying the trip didn't turn out exactly how I expected it to. Not to say it was bad, and honestly I am not sure what I expected but... yea. The city of Las Vegas itself was not what I imagined. Sure the lights were there and they were pretty damn cool; and all the gambling; and all the porn; and all the nightlife. But Vegas really isn't a place for the young twenty-something- it's more for the slightly older, more established with money and "swanky" clothing late twenty-somethings and early thirty-somethings. Everything seemed like it would have been much cooler had I had a lot more money to burn on a lot more things- like the good shows and the "swanky" bars and clubs.

Don't get me wrong. There were plenty of fun and cool things for this young twenty-something. The number ONE would have to be walking down the street with an open container of alcohol. Every college students dream (especially this year here in the 'Burg) is to walk down the street drinking a beer or a mixed drink and not get arrested- well in Las Vegas dreams do come true. The SECOND fun thing was meeting wicked random people from even more random places. For example: Dave from North Dakota with his hot northern accent, who feeds cows for a living. And Dave from Australia who wanted me to sit on his lap and go back to his pent house suite with him... tempting but NO. The Drunk middle-aged couple getting it on on the dance floor while listening to Lamar (who's white) the hat wearing, sound-effects-using lounge singer at "The HO." The 40's-ish "just married" woman dancing on the bar at Cyote Ugly or even the very large girl who stuck her face in another girls crotch while dancing on the bar at Cyote Ugly. Ohhhh the list goes on....

And yes, if you're wondering about Cyote Ugly. We did go. And we did dance on the bar- yes, that WE includes ME! But I gotta say that was the most unexcited group of people I have ever seen. The (old) men just sat and starred, mesmerized by the (young) girls, and the bar tenders really weren't all that encouraging (all except one but she can't do it by herself she needs some help people!!).

One thing that definitly rang true for Las Vegas while we were there is it's Nickname "The City That Never Sleeps." After being awake for more than 24 hours the first day, we didn't get much more than a few hours of sleep a night (well actually it was usually in the morning), but that was ok because you can lay in bed most of the day, get up still have time ot shop, eat etc, and then take a nap and get ready for the nightlife. I like that. I like that a lot seeing as how I am much more a night owl than a morning person.

Many many more things happened in Las Vegas.... but nothing else that will be effective to say on here... and nothing more that is my place to say anywhere. So that is all....

And now it's back to the daily grind... it's always hard to go back to work after a vacation but I couldn't have lasted in Las Vegas much longer....
